Located on the Costa Brava in Catalonia, the town of Roses (Rosas in Spanish) is one of the top-selling destination for family friendly holidays. Particularly popular among locals, the beach offers a tree-shaded picnic area. A little further away is Canyelles Petites. The golden sand beach is huge (310 metres long for 27 metres wide) ans sheltered from the wind. The crystal-clear waters and sandy bottom are ideal for children. If you are looking for shallow water, head to La Punta. This typical family beach is perfect with kids and remains calm.

Things to do in Rosas

Rosas is a beach town but also offers some exciting visits for the whole family. The citadel of Rosas is a military fortification where you will learn more about the impressive history of the region. Another great excursion is the 2.5 hour hike between Almadrava Beach and Cala Montjoi cove. The path offers many coves and beaches with a spectacular scenery. Rosas is also a fishing port and the whole family will enjoy attending a fish auction. Just outside of town is the Wine Family Museum, where you will learn more about the wine making process.
