Located on the north eastern shore of the island, the beach is surrounded by the largest palm tree forest in Europe.

Crete has a rich history. The Archaeological Museum of Heraklion is an outstanding visit. Recently renovated, the museum exhibits collections spanning 5,500 years of Crete’s history. Don’t skip this visit, it is probably one of the most amazing museums in the whole country. If you are craving to visit some of the fascinating Greek monuments, Crete boasts many ancient palaces and ruins to be explored. For instance, the Palace of Malia dates back to around 1900 BC and is an amazing experience to discover an ancient Greek palace.
