Last minute Brittany and Quimper

Located by the river Odet, Quimper is a 2000-year-old town of Gallo-Roman origin. The town is by itself worth a trip. The Saint Corentin Cathedral is a jewel of gothic art, built during the 13th century. During your short breaks to Brittany, take a stroll in the old town, with its half-timbered houses dating back to the 14th century. Enjoy a crepe on Place au Beurre, one of the prettiest spots in Quimper. A few kilometres from Quimper, the town of Benodet is one of the most popular port towns of the region. The modern harbour is pleasant, as well as the traditional fishing harbour. You will also find plenty of creperies and seafood restaurants to enjoy. Concarneau is the third largest fishing port of France. The historical centre of the town is one of the top destination in Britany. Check out its fishing market that starts at 6AM, the illuminated ramparts by nighttime as well as the Ville Close old town dating back to the 15th century.

Brittany Beaches

In Benodet, the Trez Beach is very popular and secure, with lots of activities and lifegards. If you are staying in the area, the Glenan Islands are a popular boat trip: the crystal-clear water is incredibly picturesque ! Near Concarneau, the Pleage des Dames as well as the Plage des Sables Blancs are popular and have lifegards in the summer season.
