Located only 2 and half hours away from the UK, Seville is a one of a kind weekend destination for short breaks to Spain. As a matter of fact, Spain’s 4th largest city is the perfect place to discover Spanish culture and History as well as to experience a unique change of scenery in a weekend in Seville.
Seville historic town centre is the third largest in Europe. The city’s narrow picturesque streets contains 3 UNESCO world heritage sites: the cathedral, the Alcazar palace and the general archive of the Indies. The cathedral and its world-renowned famous tower, la Giralda, is the longest in Spain and is an incredible example of using the Arabic architecture in Christian building: the tower was in fact part of the ancient mosque. The Alcazar palace is an incredible place to visit and it feels like time has stopped in front of its peaceful gardens. The general archive building is a beautiful example of Spanish Renaissance constructions.
Short breaks to Seville are also a great way to life the Spanish way of life: enjoy the little tapas bars and nightclubs in the city centre. Want a true taste of Hispanic culture? Get into a Flamenco show and see for yourself the passion in the typically Andalusian dance. What to do in Seville is a question with too many answers !
