Platanias is located on Crete’s northwester coast. The town offers all the facilities you will need. Platanias boasts an amazing Blue Flag beach, backed by little beach bars and outdoor terraces. The close Agia Marina beach also offers a jet-ski centre. If you want to venture outside of town, visit Falasarna beach. It is about 45 minute away but the beach is considered as one of Europe’s top 10 beaches, with crystal-clear water and an amazing mountain backdrop. The clear and warm Mediterranean Sea is also the ideal setting to learn scuba diving. Many schools with qualified divers will help your discover the colourful marine life of the island.

Platanias nightlife

The town is a great resort to enjoy the legendary Greek nightlife. The town’s main street is packed with late-night bars many nightclubs. The town is also about 20 minutes away from Chania, another town also famous for its cosmopolitan nightlife.
