Built in 1910, the St. Joan of Arc Church in Le Touquet-Paris-Plage is well worth a visit. The church's steeple built in the shape of a belfry houses a bell called the "Marie-Clotilde" with a slate covered roof. The nocturnal lighting enhances the beauty if the church's facade. Inside, visitors can admire the fine stained glass windows illustrating the life of Christ, while others evoke the life and death of Joan of Arc. The organ, located above the porch, was inaugurated in 2008, and resounds wonderfully in the ideal acoustics of this place.
The little ones will be introduced to fun water activities and the bigger kids will find plenty of thrills at the Aqualud water park. Attractions to please the whole family can be found under a glass pyramid.
The little ones can play in water heated to over 30° in the Kids Lagoon. Then there are some impressive water slides for the thrill seekers. Others features include Jacuzzis, spas, waves and river rapid descents.
The more adventurous will be tempted by the Black Hole II; a sound and light spectacle in the dark. All those who take the ride leave with a souvenir photo, to prove they did it!
Built in 1925, the "Way Side" villa houses the Mussée du Le Touquet-Paris-Plage. The latter presents a collection of art from the late nineteenth century to the present day.
Between 1880 and 1914, over 200 artists visited the Etaples region. They came seeking inspiration on the Opal Coast, all the way from England, the United States, Norway or Australia. Their work is on show at the museum.
The Golf du Touquet golf course is located on the Opal coast in a magnificent setting. In fact, there are three excellent courses, ideal for maintaining your handicap on this top flight coarse, which has already played host to the French Open on several occasions. However, newcomers to the game are well catered for too on the 9-hole course, ideal for beginners and located in the middle of the pine forest.
The 2,000m ² Maréis exhibition space is dedicated to sailors from the area. The Etaples-Sur-Mer Fishing Centre looks at the daily life of fishermen.
Visitors can also view the fish that inhabit the Channel waters and the North Sea. The kids will be delighted with the chance to pet the fish in the touch pool.
