The historic centre of Naples is an open-air monument, recognised as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The remains of the ancient Roman cities of Pompeii and Herculaneum, buried by the eruption of Vesuvius in 79 AD.
Among the specialities not to be missed are limoncello, Neapolitan pizza and buffalo mozzarella.
The best way to get to know the Amalfi Coast is by boat. You could also visit Capri, Ischia and Procida.
