Carvoeiro is a small fishing village: located only 5 kilometres from the city of Lagos. The little town offers a peaceful environment, as it is built on steep red cliffs, around a cove and a sheltered beach, ideal with younger children. Carvoeiro is also a top golfing destination, with 2 18-hole golf courses, Gramacho and Vala da Pinta, as well as a 9-hole course, Vale de Milho. Close to the town is the fishing village of Benagil. With its little fishing fleet, its cliffs flanking the golden sand beach with turquoise water, Benagil is an excellent idea for a lazy day sunbathing at the beach. Another great visit is the Algar de Benagil, a cathedral like cave with a small beach entrance. Book a boat trip to access the caves and their spectacular sights.
