This ephemeral phenomenon, which is open only in winter, takes a different theme each year. Discover this veritable work of art which sees a dozen sculptors from all over Europe come and create their own works of art each year. • Palais de la Mine

    Palais de la Mine

The Monts d'Argent mine, also known as the Palais de la Mine, was the headquarters of the French Mining School, before it is transferred to Paris. 70 engineers were trained here.

Discovered in 1644, the mine site was operated until 1866. The mine site features a museum trail, complete with explanatory panels.

  • St. Martin's Church

    St. Martin's Church

The Isère valley is dominated by St. Martin's church. Founded in 1691, the building comprises three naves and three bays. The originality of this Baroque church lies in its hexagonal bell tower, but also in its interior, miraculously preserved from destruction during the French Revolution.

Two altars were carved by Joseph-Marie Martel and are now classified as Historical Monuments. Different works of art are to be found in this church, the polychrome tabernacle of the gilded monstrance altar, a painting depicting the charity of Saint Martin, as well as the small cherubs and two painted panels.

  • Coopérative Laitière de Haute Tarentaise

    Coopérative Laitière de Haute Tarentaise

Bringing together 55 dairy producers in the town of Bourg-Saint-Maurice, it produces about 650 tons of Beaufort AOP, which is then distributed in Sica stores or sold online.
