Home of real Mediterranean cuisine, Greece offers many authentic tavernas to try out some of its most celebrated dishes such as Moussaka, made of minced beef or lamb with eggplants, tomatoes and onions, Pastitsi, lamb Souvlaki or Stifado.

Visit the ancient Greek landmarks

Greece weekend breaks are also a great opportunity to discover its rich history. In Crete, visit Heraklion Archaeological Museum. Renovated in 2014, the museum is a must-see only surpassed by its counterpart in Athens. It offers a vast Minoan collection and a great overview of the island’s history.
If you would rather visit monuments, Crete also boasts many ancient palaces to visit. In Athens, visit the famous Acropolis, landmark of the classical Greek architecture, as well as the Parthenon and the temple of Athena.
