In Normandy, the Falaises des Vaches Noires cliffs is a remarkable site located on the coast of the English Channel and extending as far as Houlgate, Gonneville-sur-Mer, Auberville and Villers-sur-Mer.
The Vaches Noires are made up of clay, marl and limestone.
Today, the Vaches Noires is a listed site by the Ministry for the Environment. During school holidays, the Houlgate Geo-Paleo-Archaeologist Association features discovery tours depending on the tides.
A place dedicated to science and history in Normandy, the Paléospace Odyssey is located in Villers-sur-Mer, in a marsh near the Channel beaches and the Falaises des Vaches Noires, or "Black Cow cliffs".
It has a permanent exhibition of around 300 m² presenting paleontological discoveries. You will find Fossils of plesiosaurs, crocodiles, collections of fossils from the Vaches Noires cliffs, the marine world, the insect world and so on. Several exhibitions are scheduled throughout the year.

A visit to Deauville instantly brings the celluloid stars to mind as you enjoy a leisurely stroll along the famous Deauville boardwalk! Bordering the sandy beach, the boardwalk, which was created in 1923, became a fashionable place to see and be seen. The pretty bathing huts on the beach are named for the big stars who have participated in the Deauville American Film Festival.
