At the summit, are the three crosses sculpted by Bernard Vernet which are a homage to the painters, Giotto, Grünewald and El Greco.

The history of the Port de Sainte-Maxime dates from the eighteenth century. At the time, it was a place of embarkation for goods such as wine, oil, cork, wood, grains and vegetables. It was only in the late 1930s that the trading port became a marina.
Located in the heart of the city, the harbour is a bustling place, where it's pleasant to walk. Visitors can discover old colourful fishing boats moored at the Quai des Pêcheurs (Fisherman's Wharf).
