    • Domaine du Rayol/Le Jardin des Méditerranées

Domaine du Rayol/Le Jardin des Méditerranées

The Domaine du Rayol is a 20 hectare protected natural area, owned by the Conservatoire du littoral (French coastal protection agency), at the foot of the Massif des Maures and opposite the Îles d'Hyères, in Var, between Le Lavandou and Saint-Tropez.
The landscape gardener Gilles Clément designed the Jardin des Méditerranées there, an invitation on a journey through the Mediterranean landscapes of the world and landscapes with a more arid or sub-tropical climate.

    • Lavandou

      Lavandou

Lavandou is a seaside resort located on the Côte d'Azur, in Var.
Nicknamed "La Cité des Dauphins", the town of Lavandou is located on the water's edge and at the foot of the Maures massif. You can therefore enjoy both the waters and the green nature of the Mediterranean region.
From Lavandou you can also easily access the Levant islands and Port-Cros

    • Musee d'art et d'Histoire de Bormes-les-Mimosas

      Musee d'art et d'Histoire de Bormes-les-Mimosas

A seventeenth century building, formerly a prison, a Town Hall and then a boy's school, is current the location of the Museum of Art and History of Bormes-les-Mimosas. Now restored, it's a fine historical setting for the works on show.

Visitors can discover a collection of paintings from the nineteenth and twentieth centuries covering the pointillist and neo-impressionist movements. The museum also has a collection of sculptures, as well as old votive offerings and regularly presents temporary exhibitions.

    • Fort de Brégançon

      Fort de Brégançon

Fort de Brégançon is one of the most beautiful sites of Bormes-les-Mimosas and bears witness to a rich history. This islet was conquered by the Greeks in 400 BC. It served as a trading post. The rock then became a stronghold. A fort would be built in the 11thth century. This place bore witness to great figures and historic events (Napoleon, the First World War, etc.) before becoming the official residence of the French president in 1968. François Hollande decided to open it to the public.

    • Massif des Maures

      Massif des Maures

Sardinia and Corsica were attached to the continent long ago. The Maures Massif retains traces of this geographical and geological past. Spread over 135,000 hectares between Hyères and Fréjus, the Maures is what remains of the mountains of the past. Thus, the Golden Isles, off Hyères, are the emerging peaks of these ancient mountains.

Discover a landscape of forests, chestnut trees and rocks. This rugged landscape has given its name to the Massif des Maures, which comes from the Provençal "Lei Mauro," meaning black mountain.
Some beautiful walks await hikers in this wild landscape, taking in the mountain's 26 villages.
