The Olympic Bobsleigh Track in La Plagne boasts 19 turns, 1,500 metres of absolute joy (tinged with terror, naturally)! This is a rather unusual experience which is a real thrill. It's the chance to imagine yourself as one of the Jamaican bobsleigh team in "Cool Runnings".
You're sure to remember this hair raising and adrenaline filled ride for the rest of your life. Take a trip down the Olympic bobsleigh track and you can if you wish opt for your ride to be filmed: you can then take the video home with you to show off your bobsleigh experience!
Located on the road from Milan to Vienna, this museum space is at the heart of a valley which was very popular with the Romans, who liked the climate here. Under Roman rule, the town became the capital of the Alpes Graies province.
Objects exhibited at the Pierre Borrione Museum bear witness to this era, as do the foundations of a Roman building. These foundations are now partly covered by a church, a jewel of Savoy Romanesque art: the Basilica of St. Martin was classed as a historic monument in 1875.
Although it is no longer a place of worship, the church invites contemplation and silence. Explore the semi-subterranean crypt, Roman engraved stones and twelfth century frescoes.
Built during feudal times, the original goal of the Tour des Sires de Montmayeur was to control circulation on the Isère river. Then, during Renaissance it became a residence. Today, this square tower full of Aime la Plagne's history houses various exhibitions, which take the visitors back to the Middle Ages. The cellar is centred on wine history and even offers a small taste of it.
The Belle-Plagne bowling alley is suitable for all levels, even children, thanks to the bumpers that guide the ball to the pins every time.
The complex also includes a games room, including a pool table, a pinball machine, a simulator and table football in summer.
You can also enjoy a drink while watching sports events: rugby and football matches, motorsport competitions, extreme sports and skiing, of course.
