«Plus and minus»
Last year we stayed in Terreaces Eos and i have some comments about Helios as i compare the two. Helios was highly convenient for skiing with children, everything was close on site, including the ski lessons! The reception area was not as impressive as Eos and the staff appeared to be 'bothered' if asked a question. In EOS there was a larger hotpool inside which was ideal after a day of skiing, however the pool and outside hotpool were way to cold to relax in. We really missed this in our stay as we couldn't use it after the first day, it was too cold. In EOS our towels were changed mid week and the same is advertised for Helios, however we received no fresh towels and i had to ask twice for toilet roll! When i spoke to reception, she said i had to ask for a towel change and I have never had to do that in a hotel before! If it’s advertised in the fine print of your accommodation, it should happen automatically. On the plus side, the 2 bedroom (2 bathroom) apartment was perfect for our stay and we had a fabulous south facing view.
Group of 7 friends had the the time of they’re life. Perfect snow conditions for the second year in succession . All the amenities in the accommodation allowed us to fully enjoy our week in the snow . Friendly and helpful staff , the only remark would be the temp of the indoor swimming pool , but we had the outdoor jacuzzi to make it up . Very family oriented , could use a bar at the lounge area .
«Excellent stay in Flaine for skiing»
The accommodation package and kitchens are a joy to use. Tie that to a well equipped on site Spa shop and door to door skiing and we were very happy. Not much boozy nightlife nearby meant it was very quiet and probably for the more self-contained groups. The resort is extensive enough and snow sure enough for all abilities for a week, you'd probably get bored for 2 weeks if you are advanced.
good accommodation and excellent location for ski in ski out. easy walk in to the but the free minibus in to town in the evening is great. really enjoyed my stay, and only an hour from Geneva, so its a great place to take the family.
«Excellent property for skiing»
My wife and I have stayed at Les Terasses d'Helios and its sister hotel Les Terasses d'Eos in Flaine twice each now and both are excellent. The accommodation is modern and well-equipped; there are pools and spas in both hotels; the staff all speak good English and are very helpful; the restaurants are superb. Both hotels are ski in ski out and Flaine itself is a great place to ski - it has runs for every ability.
