This hotel was disgusting. We arrived at 12 to drop all our luggage as we came as a family. They told us we would be able to store our luggage when we arrived but we couldn’t so we had to sit in the hot sun for 3 hours waiting for them to open. As soon as we got room keys, the guy at reception tells us we need to clean the kitchen and bathrooms and strip the beds when we leave. The room was old and smelly and dirty. The shower stunk of pee and there were yellow stains on the shower floor. First night sleeping there and I got bitten by bed bugs. The next morning I told them we are not happy and would like to be refunded for the last two nights. They told me they would get people in suits to come and clean and it would take 4 hours and I said I didn’t want to stay. They refused to refund us. This is like a one star hotel. It is so old and dirty and they need a renovation. The pictures make the place seem better than in person. We were only given one toilet roll for the whole family: I’m disgusted and the service was shocking.

The apartments have good standards and are located very centrally in Chamonix. Good services like pool and ski storage.

The people on the reception are really nice and professional. The place is close to the train and bus stations and the city centre. The apartments are cozy and have all you need.

My fiance and I stayed here for two nights just before the Christmas holiday ski rush.
The place was very cute & much larger than expected.
Location was perfect. Right in the heart of Chamonix near all the shops & restaurants, including several ski rental shops. That said, we’d definitely recommend taking the bus to Brévent (if you’re skiing there) as opposed to walking up the giant hill.
We had a great view of the mountains & a decent sized balcony. The pool, sauna and steam room were great. We had to reserve the latter two but had no issues with booking at the last minute.
Underground parking was fine & an extra 20 euros per night.
We didn’t need to use the wifi so it was fine but pls note that it doesn’t really work.
We would definitely come here again, as it was perfect for our needs.

I was trapped in the elevator for 45 minutes with my 8-year-old daughter after it dropped unexpectedly to the basement. The emergency speaker didn’t work. Family outside realized we were missing and after checking all floors found us and went out to call for help. My daughter was very distressed, and two days later the same thing happened to another family with children before they finally closed the elevator for the rest of our time there. We were on the third floor with luggage for a family of five. The receptionist gave us a tin of biscuits as a goodwill gesture.

Our formal complaint to Pierre et Vacances received no reply. When we called the head office, a staff member told us “no one cares, this is normal, elevators break all the time”.

The apartment had black mold on the curtains, the toilet smelled awful and we had to buy cleaning products to deal with the bathrooms.

In summary, unsafe, dirty, and terrible customer service.

Thank you for sharing your feedback, Michael, and we are deeply sorry to hear about the distressing experience you had during your stay. Being trapped in the elevator for 45 minutes, especially with your 8-year-old daughter, is an unacceptable and frightening situation. The fact that the emergency speaker did not work and that your family had to search for you and call for help highlights serious safety concerns. We sincerely apologize for the distress this caused to you and your daughter, and we regret that the issue was not resolved promptly, leading to a similar incident with another family.

The response from our head office, as you described, is completely unacceptable. Elevators breaking may happen occasionally, but the lack of care and dismissive attitude toward your complaint is not reflective of the standards we aim to uphold. We deeply regret that your formal complaint received no reply and that the goodwill gesture of a tin of biscuits fell far short of addressing the gravity of the situation.

Additionally, the condition of the apartment, including black mold on the curtains, a foul-smelling toilet, and the need to purchase cleaning products for the bathrooms, is far below the standards we strive to provide. We apologize for the discomfort and inconvenience this caused during your stay.

We advise you to fill in this contact form ans explain the situation so that this can be handled with the Guest Relations department: https://contactariane.pierreetvacances.com/en-en

We deeply regret that your experience was so negative and hope to have the opportunity to restore your trust in the future.
