Regulars at Pierre et Vacances, we were dismayed when we arrived at this one...already when we opened the door a strong musty smell assailed us, atrocious, and what dismay when we saw the state of the accommodation...stained sofa , chairs and joinery with blistered and rusty paint, black joints in the bathroom, dust everywhere, sanitary facilities with a strong smell of urine, no PQ. We cleaned as best we could, 1st night a spider ? fell on me in the bunk bed that I shared with my son...a horror!!
After investigation the next morning it turned out that the cleaning had not been done that they were aware of...sorry??
So in this P&V we do not clean the accommodation before the arrival of customers??
In addition our TV didn't work, with no possibility of repair, so we were deprived of it for 4 days...not that we had any use for it but we were paying for a service that we didn't have.
The accommodation afterwards is well designed (duplex 6 people) in spaces with well separated children/parents bedrooms, but hey no electrical outlet in the kitchen already it's annoying...only one light in the child's bedroom...in short the minimum union.
Overall, we were disappointed and this calls into question our desire to rent again with P&V. When you pay €150 per night for this type of service...you might as well go elsewhere!
The building with the apartments and studios is quite gloomy...the games room too. It lacks maintenance and warmth. Unheated outdoor swimming pool, we couldn't use it in the middle of August.
After positive point good location, it's quiet. That will be everything for me...
In short, I don't recommend renting an airBnB as much.

Favorite island of Aix, ideal for relaxing, walking, fishing
Pierre and vacation accommodations are good
But service level a little to be desired a roll of paper for the toilets for 5 days several requests without answers the linen not taken out of the cleaning bag corridor not very clean damage

The Fort de la rade is very well located on the island. This is not my first stay and I have never been disappointed. Clean and well equipped apartment. Very good bedding. The swimming pool is a plus and very pleasant.
Small suggestion: the apartments do not have terraces, it would be good to arrange the large plot of land in front of the building with tables, seats and deckchairs to be able to enjoy a shaded exterior.
It's a shame that the residence closes in mid-September, I would have come back for a few days in October or during the All Saints' Day holidays.

In the middle of a heatwave this could be very difficult for those who have their apartments facing south on the garden side....
