I am feeling very frustrated. I arrived at 9pm and traveled from Norway to stay from October 6th to 8th. Since my birthday was on October 4th, I arrived tired and the reception was closed. I walked carrying a lot of weight to the Horitizó hotel, because a sign said that I would have to check in there, where the receptionist “Ana Clara” made me pay a €200 deposit, insinuating that something might go missing from the apartment during my stay. “Ana Clara”she was extremely rude and ironic! The money was taken out of my account immediately, she said it was frozen and that isnt true. I had already paid the hotel costs She said that if I didn’t like the place, I shouldn’t come back! He even said that if I didn't have the deposit, I would sleep on the street, even with proof of payment. She completely ruined the vibe of my trip. She treated me despicably. A type of person who is not suited for the job she does, the card I use was not accepted at the place and she said: “I can’t believe you don’t have another one, after all you need to eat, extremely unnecessary!!!! I have traveled to more than 21 countries and I have been to almost all of Spain and I have never been so mistreated in my entire life, not to mention that the apartment smells like incense, where she put me on the first floor where you could hear the noise of people slamming doors, motorcycles, cars and people talking. She ruined my trip and if I could I would leave tomorrow, I do not recommend it to anyone who arrives late from their trip and has to check in at another reception. Nowhere in the email or receipts does it say that I have to pay a deposit, but the problem here isn't even the money. It's the attitude of the receptionist. I am going to take pictures of the apartment, I want my deposit back and the feeling of frustration is immense. I was mistreated. I came to escape the cold of Norway for a day and a half and I ended up stressed and not even wanting to get to know the city for fear that people there are like the receptionist, who I could clearly sense xenophobia in her speech and attitude. I don't feel safe!!!

We stayed here for a week and overall, the location was great, and the staff at the sister hotel’s reception were very friendly and always willing to help with any problems.

However, there are quite a few improvements that could make the experience better, as some of the issues we encountered were a bit unexpected.

Beds – We had an older sofa bed that was really uncomfortable, and our first night’s sleep was not great. While the staff were unable to offer us an alternative room, they did provide an extra mattress, which slightly improved the situation. That said, it would be ideal if the sofa beds were more comfortable to begin with as I can see many reviews have mentioned this as an issue.

No on-site reception – There was no reception on-site during our stay. After a long day of traveling, having to walk to another hotel’s reception was a bit inconvenient, especially when issues arose. It made the place feel a little deserted at times. There’s also a €200 deposit you have to pay upfront on arrival which is very expensive.

Furniture and amenities – The apartment itself had some dated furniture and kitchen utensils, and a few essentials were missing, such as a kettle. We were also only given two bin bags for the whole week, which felt a bit limited. The TV was quite old as well, and given the couple of rainy mornings and evenings we had, a more up-to-date TV would have been appreciated. E.g a smart tv we could just connect to and stream services ourselves.

Dear Anna Maria,
Thank you for sharing your opinion after your recent stay at Pierre & Vacances Blanes Playa.

We are delighted that you found our location to be great and that the staff at our sister hotel were friendly and always ready to assist.

However, we are sorry that some aspects of your stay did not meet your expectations. We understand that the quality of sleep is paramount, and it is regrettable that the sofa bed was not to your comfort. Regarding the absence of an on-site reception, we strive for the convenience of our guests and we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. We also note your concerns about the furniture and kitchen utensils; guest satisfaction in these areas is of high importance to us. Additionally, we appreciate you bringing to our attention the number of bin bags provided and the TV facilities. It is important for us that our guests have all they need for a comfortable stay, and we will certainly consider your comments for future improvements.

Finally, we are pleased that our staff’s hospitality positively impacted your visit, and we hope that their service left a lasting good impression.

We hope you will give us another chance to provide you with a better experience in the future. Kind regards,

Josep M Macià, Manager

Arrived at 1am and had to do a 10 minute walk to Hotel Horitzo which we already knew about. We met a lovely receptionist that sorted out our keys, took our tax payment and did the E200 authorisation on the card.
When we we back to the appartments the vending machine had barely any stock and every thing was shut.
The sofa bed was not made up, so wearily we climbed into bed after making it. The matress was so thin that the bars from the sofa pushed through and I was in pain and barely slept. In the morning we awoke to a massive stench of drains, the spare pillows did not have pillow cases and there was BLOOD spatters on the curtains. I went back to reception to complain.
Another lovely receptionist moved us up to the 8th floor, this time there was no smell, a clean apartment and a comfortable sofa bed. The manager popped in to see us which was a nice touch. I showed him the balcany as the glass divider was cracked and he already knew about it.
I did some shopping and we settled in.
But there was a big strip of the kitchen unit missing, no hot water and only one bath towel. Also when I tried to plug the kettle in the base was all melted - really dangerous. Finally I discovered the hob did not work! Not great for self catering
I went back to reception in the other hotel (there was no reception at all in the apartment block - just an empty office). They replaced the kettle, towel and fixed the water. But the did not fix the hob and had no spare apartments to move us to, and was very apologetic about it.
I filled in the online survey asking for a free meal as I could not cook anything and I was ignored.
The area where the apartment block is on the beach, near the caravan parks and is about 15-20 walk (all flat) into the main town. There is a very expensive little supermarket nearby and a bar. But lots of closed bars and restaurants, it was like a ghost town. It maybe because it was April and things werent open yet?
The views from every apartment face the sea and they are spectacular. There is a little playground and a couple of nice restaurants about 5 minutes away.
Although the staff were genuinely lovely, it was painful to keep trapsing down everytime I discovered a problem. I wouldnt return to these apartments, but may consider staying at the hotel puely based on how nice the staff were?
Note: the E200 deposit was back in the bank account the day after returning.

Dear Laura,
Thank you for sharing your opinion following your recent stay at Pierre & Vacances Blanes Playa.

It is encouraging to hear that the responsiveness of our staff and the beautiful sea views from our apartments met your expectations.

Our team strives to offer a welcoming environment and swift solutions whenever any issues arise, such as those you experienced upon arrival. We are glad that our manager's visit and the subsequent apartment relocation positively impacted your stay.

However, we regret to hear about the challenges you encountered, including the initial discomfort with the sofa bed and the concerns regarding cleanliness. We take pride in maintaining high standards of accommodation, and your experience prompts us to be even more vigilant.

The vending machine's stock and the issues with the kitchen equipment are certainly not indicative of the quality we aim to deliver, and we are reviewing these areas to ensure they meet the expectations of our guests.

While we do not have a reception in the apartment block, we hope the 24-hour availability of our sister hotel's reception provided some reassurance.

The location of our property, while convenient for accessing the beach and nearby amenities, may not bustle with activity outside peak season, which explains the quieter atmosphere you observed. We understand that this may not cater to everyone's preferences and hope it did not detract significantly from the overall enjoyment of your stay.

Additionally, we are pleased to confirm that the prompt return of your deposit aligns with our commitment to efficient and transparent financial dealings.

We hope to see you again.
Best regards,

La Dirección
