Very pleasant staff; well-designed apartment BUT: not very clean: dirty dishes (with pieces of food in the pan and bowls), balcony and its drying rack very dirty, interior not clean in general! When our neighbors left, the cleaning team with their trolley stayed for a really VERY SHORT time to clean.......so that's the explanation!! Yuck
* The residence is outside the resort. A free bus is available to Val d'Isère, but without it, there's absolutely nothing to do on site in case of bad weather, for example (we had some), or just to relax between hikes. In addition, there's a lot of construction going on in the surrounding area.
* Underground parking is available, but only stairs to access the reception, where there used to be elevators. Until then, luggage transfers were a challenge.
* The apartment is very poorly laid out, with bunk beds directly at the entrance. The cold outside came in through the door, which was unpleasant even though we had a heater. In the bedroom with a double bed, a good half of the mattress wasn't comfortable :(
* A serious lack of storage space, which is unacceptable for a 6-person apartment in my opinion.
* A serious lack of electrical outlets as well; I've never seen so few outlets in an apartment, and the few that there were were very poorly placed.
* Tiny kitchen; we've had larger ones in smaller P&V apartments. In terms of equipment, only huge frying pans, so boiling an egg is really impractical. If you wash the dishes by hand, there's nowhere to dry them!
* Our towels were way too small to get out of the shower, BUT this was fixed by reception.
On the plus side:
* Quiet residence.
* Board games available for loan and a "kids" corner at reception; the kids had a great time and made friends.
* Very beautiful view of the mountains and cute foxes every evening under our balcony. Loved it.
* Some nice hikes near the residence, especially the one in the Lost Village.
Overall, this was our sixth P&V rental and it's the one we liked the least. We'll return to some, but not here.
