A superb stay at Pierre et Vacances in La Rochelle! Everything is within walking distance and is easily accessible by public transport. The train station is a 5-minute bus ride away, as is the grocery store, the port, and the town center.
The welcome was perfect, always with a smile. The apartment for 4 was very clean, and the sofa bed was very comfortable. The only downside was no air conditioning, but there was a fan on site. However, the very reasonable rental price justifies the lack of air conditioning, I think.
The pool is well heated, and board games for the children are available for loan.
Scam, they ask to pay 30% but they ask me for the whole amount even though I didn't even go there! They don't respect the law. Each establishment has its little rules but it's strange the law is never respected in the end.
The information about cleaning, changing towels, check out rules etc. could have been better. Good hotel and clean. Nice staff but would have been good if a few more could communicate in English. The girl at the reception who we unfortunately only met when we checked out was very service minded. She helped us order train tickets, printed them out for us then etc. Great employee!
Good for families with children.
