Excellent weekend at the residence. We received a wonderful welcome, excellent service, and helpful advice. The small studio was clean and functional, with a small balcony.
The absolute best thing about it is the location. Just steps from the old port. We didn't even need to use the car.
The only downside was the lack of air conditioning in such a lovely establishment.
I highly recommend it! ???
We stayed in a small, cramped apartment for 4 people. There wasn't even a wardrobe; the only one was for cleaning supplies. Otherwise, the staff were very friendly, and Roche is a very beautiful town.
I don't understand how hotels in La Rochelle still don't have air conditioning in 2026.
The welcome was very cold.
During this heatwave, we asked if it would be possible for the pool to be open until 8 pm instead of 7 pm, to which we were told, "I want to go home too."
The pool hours are too short, and the frozen croissants at breakfast were inedible.
Only the location is worth the stars.
Nice room, we stayed in studio 141 during the heatwave at the end of June 2026.
No ventilation in the rooms, just a small fan that circulated hot air.
The room reached a maximum of 36 degrees Celsius, and it was sometimes cooler outside.
The shower was dirty; I had to buy CIF cleaner myself and clean the grout and the floor (mold and grime).
Our refrigerator was replaced on the second-to-last day. Apparently, no one checked that it was working properly before our arrival. It didn't survive the heatwave; it no longer cooled or froze. However, the technician came and fixed the problem, so thank you to him.
The toilet brush was disgusting and worn out.
The pool is pleasant, and sun loungers, showers, and changing cabins are available.
No shade or parasols, though…
Breakfast is best avoided at all costs:
meager slices of cheese and ham in a tiny fridge. Harry's sliced bread and the same goes for the "Vendée" brioche, which is clearly mass-produced.
The juices are bitter and undoubtedly very concentrated and low-quality.
No eggs or bacon, and very little choice of bread or cereal.
€11 is overpriced.
We paid €693 for a week, which is average value for money considering the conditions.
The reception staff are pleasant and attentive.
The establishment is very well located, with everything nearby.
