Dirty and degraded accommodation, aging and poorly maintained swimming pool, the whole site really leaves something to be desired, I do not recommend it at all, we arrived Saturday August 9 for 15 days...

We spent 5 nights at the Pierre et Vacances Normandy Garden Village. Overall, everything went well. The staff is attentive and helpful.

Now for the negative points:

- The Accommodation: Overall, it was fine, except for three minor issues.

The first was that it smelled musty and damp (we bought a dehumidifier ourselves to counteract this).

The second was that the grouting in the bathroom needed to be redone because it was completely moldy (see photo).

The third was that having a terrace overlooking the lake is nice, but not being able to enjoy it throughout your stay because the wood is completely rotten, which is also a risk with young children (see photo).

The Aquatic Center: For me, this is where the most work needs to be done. Knowing the standing of the Pierre et Vacances group (because they frequent many Center Parcs), how could you welcome the public into such an aging facility that is so lacking in maintenance? As you can see (see photo), the walls and corners of the pool are greenish. The showers are cold (so no showers were taken during the stay to access the pools), the changing rooms are dirty and lack regular cleaning. Half of the lockers no longer work! Having only six changing cabins and a baby corner for such a large facility with all the people is becoming complicated at their peak!

It might be time to close the village for two months to undertake major renovations!

For our part, until the renovations are completed, we will not be returning to the Normandy Garden, which is a shame because it is ideally located between the towns of Cean and Honfleur.

Very quiet residence in a very green and natural setting. The spa pool is a plus. The teen club was very much appreciated by our 14-year-old teenager. We participated in muscle strengthening and took a guided tour of Houlgate offered by a person at the reception that I highly recommend. The mini golf, ping pong, badminton, trampoline and tennis mean that we cannot get bored as for the region it is rich in history and gastronomy so we were delighted by this stay. Thank you to the whole team! The only downside was the WIFI did not work well in our accommodation, which allowed us to disconnect.

When we booked, we had our doubts, partly due to the reviews. Fortunately, I'd read them thoroughly, so I wasn't too disappointed. The welcome was friendly, and we were able to enter the cottage earlier than the stated 5:00 PM. Unfortunately, we couldn't get close to the cottage by car and had to move our belongings with (old) trolleys like those you know from hardware stores. Our six-person cottage had a small bedroom with a bunk bed, a living room with two sofa beds where the kitchen was also located, and a shower/toilet on the ground floor (despite being on the first floor). A balcony with a patio set complemented this floor. A staircase led to a good-sized room with a spacious double bed, a bathroom with a bathtub, and a separate toilet. The bed linen and towels were wonderfully clean (laundry facilities provided). Nevertheless, there were plenty of issues to consider. The door was stuck, the toilet seat was loose, there was no extractor fan above the stove and none working in the showers, it was dusty, and a fresh coat of paint wouldn't hurt. In the very large sports hall, you'll find tennis courts (rental costs €5 per hour, I believe), several badminton courts (free rental), and a play area. Outside, there's an old miniature golf course (free rental) and a pétanque court (free rental). The swimming pool is wonderfully warm and has two outdoor pools and an indoor pool, as well as several comfortable loungers. The showers are cold, but there are ample changing facilities. Maintenance is also overdue here. We didn't use the restaurant. You can borrow games at the reception, and there's a small (somewhat expensive) supermarket with limited opening hours. There are significant elevation changes in the park, but there are plenty of walkways and roads. There's a beautiful pond teeming with carp (but unfortunately, fishing is not allowed here). The soccer field and the paths are also in serious need of maintenance. Some lamps have exposed electrical wires, and the wood on some steps was so rotten that nails could hit you. It was truly dangerous. We didn't participate in the entertainment program. Location-wise, it's a beautiful spot, there's so much to do nearby, and the park's natural beauty is stunning. It's truly a shame that there's so much deferred maintenance, because this park has the potential to be a 5-star park. Invest or let them take over and let it flourish again. Let it regain its former glory. All in all, we had a great week.

A few more rankings to clarify everything.

Location 5/5

Swimming pool maintenance 2/5
Staff friendliness 5/5

Potential 5/5

A holiday center that offers several pools, a sauna, activities for the whole family, and equipment rental (golf club, pétanque balls, rackets, etc.) is great!!
The accommodation is a bit lacking in refreshment and a bit dated!!
On the other hand, there's a small downside to the restaurant: the prices are excessive: a café crème was 4.80! A strawberry diabolo was 3.50! We ordered two pizzas for €30, nothing to eat on them, not very well stocked with ingredients, and cold to eat! Only one server, while there were 3/4 of us waiting for ice cream or two crepes, we waited 20 minutes.
Even geduld...
