Departing from Cargèse, a Shuttle Boat provides access to the Scandola Nature Reserve. This protected site is listed as a Unesco World Heritage Site, and offers an unspoilt haven in the Mediterranean.
Visitors can view blue vistas at the foot of the cliffs, only accessible from the sea as the village has no road. Located on the Scandola Presque Isle, the reserve is home to a wealth of flora and fauna. Visitors will be able to observe gulls, cormorants and sea eagles. Enjoy an escape to nature at Scandola!
Customers are invited to enjoy a gourmet break Chez Parenti ensconced on the terrace facing the sea under the palms, or in the modern dining room. Open since 1935, this restaurant in Propriano, serves regional products, particularly seafood.
Sample fish soup made from grandmother's recipe, sea spider ravioli, asparagus glazed in maquis honey, or Corsican lobster.
The meal continues with the accent placed firmly on the region's flavours. The Corsican cheeses are accompanied by excellent wines. The meal concludes with a selection of fine desserts.
Rocks, sea-salt, and nature at its best…
The Scandola natural reserve established in 1975; it covers 900 hectares of land and about a thousand marine hectares. The fauna and flora are here protected both over and under water.
The reserve is known for its bird population, attracted to high, jagged cliffs and lush vegetation; all of which makes a picture-perfect scene of untamed nature.
The maritime section of the reserve is even listed by UNESCO, so keep a sharp eye when you tour the reserve as dolphins might be surfacing any time...
