      Marché de Lacanau Océan

      Fresh produce, specialities to take away, country honey, fruit and vegetables and even spices
      , as well as ready to wear and local craftsmanship are promoted at the Lacanau océan market. This market is especially impressive in summer, from June to September, and showcases a lively and colourful atmosphere.
      The rest of the year, the market is less extensive. Some traders have therefore got together to offer fruit and vegetables, as well as cheese.

      Stretching for 2,000 hectares, Lacanau Lake is one of the biggest lakes in the Landes department.

      While the edges of Lacanau Lake are shallow (1 to 2m), at its widest, Lacanau Lake can reach up up to 8m.

      Dotted with islands, Lacanau Lake with its Bird island and Goat island, is a special place where fauna and flora flourish.

      You can enjoy this beautiful variety of landscapes from pointe du Tedey.

      For families, the Lacanau Lake beaches are the ideal place for swimming, just one hour from Bordeaux!

      Lac de Carcans-Maubuisson

      Carcans-Maubuisson lake to the north-west of Bordeaux covers 6,000 hectares, making it the largest natural freshwater lake in France.

      This family seaside resort bathed by the waves of theAtlantic Ocean, famous for the Bombannes watersport centre and Maubuisson itself, is one of the top places in Europe for competitive sailing.

      There are lots of other outdoor sports on offer too (tree top adventures, tennis, water skiing, hiking etc.) - plenty of thrills for all the family!

      Réserve naturelle de l'étang de Cousseau

      This nature reserve is hidden by the dune-lined coastline and the national forest of Lacanau, which allows it to preserve a great diversity of original landscapes. Over a 7km trail, you can visit this natural area as a family, and wander the trails for a short hike.

      Dunes, primary forests, giant ferns and extensive marshes compose the different areas of this tranquil spot, including a pond around which it's pleasant to sit and picnic.

      You'll get your Mojo back in Lacanau. Here, in the time it takes to drink an aperitif, you can share some tapas with friends, or sit back and enjoy a meal and treat yourself to a burger or a salad in hot weather.
