  • Musée d'Art moderne de Collioure

    Musée d'Art moderne de Collioure

    City of painters…

Painters and artists generally speaking have always been drawn to the town of Collioure; it was such an accepted fact that the city was eventually nicknamed "City of Painters".

The Modern Art Museum in Collioure is subsequently home to a number of inestimable pieces including the works of Descossy, Baloffi and Cocteau. The museum also organises a wealth of exhibitions and cultural events throughout the year.

  • Eglise Notre-Dame-des-Anges

    Eglise Notre-Dame-des-Anges

    The church in the water.

Located in the Collioure port, the Notre-Dame-des-Anges church literally bathes in the Mediterranean.
Built in the Middle Ages, this building has been modified several times. The church was only joined to the steeple, which was used as a lighthouse, in 1684. The Southern Gothic style church seems austere but the inside is richly adorned.
