Bello, bello, bello.
The location is pleasant, close to Trouville, but it's still about a fifteen-minute walk to the beach, unless you're lucky enough to cross the harbor master's bridge, which only lowers every 30 minutes.
We stayed in a two-bedroom duplex apartment. Unfortunately, this type of accommodation isn't suitable for a stay with a young child, particularly because of the stairs. When we arrived, the floor was visibly dirty: a simple tissue wiped over a drop of spilled water turned into a brown rag. The dishes were also unclean, probably because they were washed by the previous occupants.
Another unpleasant surprise: a large orange trash bag was sitting right in front of our door on the day of our departure, which wasn't practical when you have to maneuver with a child and luggage. In fact, you have to take out the trash yourself, which is a bit surprising for a 5-star establishment.
The terrace was a nice touch, with a surprise visit from a seagull. As for the bedding, the adult beds were comfortable, but the travel cot provided for our baby was very uncomfortable: a very thin, uneven mattress, impossible for proper sleep. We had to improvise a solution with cushions and a duvet. If we return, we'll bring our own.
Breakfast, already inaccessible during a previous stay, disappointed us again. This time, we had anticipated it, but despite everything, the experience didn't convince us in terms of taste.
The pool is pleasant, but the floor is extremely slippery, and there's no signage to indicate this. Our child fell, hitting his head and suffering a nasty bump. Unfortunately, no ice packs were available, nor even ice cubes in the restaurant, which would have been a minimum in such a situation.
Finally, the reception was the most regrettable aspect: waiting while a conversation between colleagues was held without a word of apology seemed very unprofessional to us. We had to leave and call to be taken care of.
We weren't expecting a palace, but cleanliness, security, friendliness, and customer service shouldn't be optional, regardless of the advertised standard.
A great experience in the Pierre & Vacances residence in Deauville, and a little extra for Morgane who welcomed us and provided us with excellent information,
I will come back
