Just stayed at the Ardeche facility and generally had a great time. The location is excellent with amazing views over the valley. The whole facility is generally clean and there are lots of things to do. Sadly the trip was ruined by vast numbers of people staying at the facility. Absolutely no way to get a deckchair by any of the pools. This ruined our last two days. I would not advise going in the peak summer season.
Dear DavewZ666XG, Thank you for sharing your recommendation. We are happy to read that you had a great time in our Village Du Rouret We are looking forward to see you again Best regards Corinne Blanc - Directrice du Village Pierre et Vacances du Rouret en Ardèche
The accommodation was tired and basic. We took a VIP house with kitchenette but got a sink and a dishwasher - no dedicated kitchen area, crockery stored in a cupboard across the living area. Bedrooms and bathrooms were fine but furniture in living area in poor state (stains on settee; stains scuffs and scratches on paintwork throughout. The worst part was that we were plagued with flies. We had to choose between keeping all the doors/windows shut and sweltering (no air conditioning), or opening up the windows and suffering a constant stream of flies. I rarely leave a bad review but in spite of its beautiful location and great pool areas, I would not return.
We were disappointed by the terrible customer service during our holiday in the Pierre et Vacances village club in Ardeches this summer. Opening hours and service was limited, and often rude unmotivated staff. They could learn from the Club Med ethos.
A lot of fun activities for the whole family. Nice pool areas and surrounding areas. Friendly personel. The level of information in english was poor - however with google translator we managed. The wifi we plaid for was slow and unstable even though we paid for the fast package. We where disapointed in regard to the appartment - two hotel rooms gathered to an appartment the result was two kitchenettes, two toilets etc. But not very cosy with three beds placed in a kitchen area. The "hotel" was 5-10 minutters walk from the 'village', main pool areas, reception, restaurants etc.
The pace was great, the accommodation was clean and tidy, fresh, no complaints at all. Internet great. Reception only open a few hours a day, so arrive when they are open and not early, or late and definitely not at lunch time. Check facilities before you go by phoning. We checked on internet and everything was available and open, got there and it was not. Phone them ..... but not at lunch time (Lunch time can be up to 4 hours long - i'm not kidding you) Onsite minimarket, only opened for a few hours a day, and even then they closed when they felt like it and not according to the sign. Shops outside of camp is easy to get to ..... even big supermarkets are closed on a Sunday. If you want petrol on a lunch time, you need a credit card. Resort is great and clean, staff are friendly, its just you can't find any. Everything closes at lunch time (minimum 2 hours - Maximum only open in the morning) Indeed the whole area closes at lunch. Work around lunch times or go with it....... Resort is great .... :-)
