Have a good stay

Huge disappointment upon arrival: the apartment was at the end of a corridor with the living room overlooking other buildings, so there was no real view.

(Yet it was on the 8th floor, and I had specifically requested a view when I booked through Booking.com four months in advance, so it wasn't a last-minute booking.) It was poorly oriented, so there was very little light, and the bedroom window also faced the corridor, so there was no view there either. And the worst part was the smell of the carpet (the smell of old socks, typical of ski lockers, but present throughout the entire apartment, even though it was the middle of summer). The apartment was spacious but empty; there were no chairs in the large bedroom, and no desk either. What was the point of all that space if we couldn't even put our clothes down?

The only positive point: the kindness of the people at reception who did their best to find us a new apartment (we were willing to pay more for something better, but the building was completely full). I don't understand why the Booking reviews don't mention this very unpleasant smell. Perhaps this problem is limited to our apartment, but there seems to be carpeting throughout the entire building... something to keep an eye on...
Furthermore, bringing our luggage from the parking lot was a real ordeal. Cars should at least be allowed for quick luggage drop-off in front of the building. Luggage carts should be available at the entrance to the resort (which they weren't) – we only found them 50 meters from the residence after walking 500 meters carrying our bags.

The welcome was very attentive.

We had a great stay at this residence. It's not too far from the luggage drop-off point and easily accessible by stairs to the center of Avoriaz. The accommodation has everything you need. I recommend it!
