      Centro de Mont-Roig Del Camp

A major tourist agglomeration of the province of Tarragona, Mont-Roig del Camp has plenty going for it, in particular 12km of beaches offering numerous leisure and sports activities.
But the city also has lots of admirable monuments, in particular the hermitage of Mare de Déu de la Roca (13th century), from which you can enjoy beautiful views of the Chapel of Sant Ramon (10th century), the Renaissance Vella Church and Nova Sant Miquel Church (19th century).

    • The new church of Sant Miquel

The new church of Sant Miquel

The new church of Sant Miquel was built in 1801 but remains unfinished today. To erect such a large monument, a block of 22 houses had to be demolished - because of its size this church is also commonly called the "Cathedral of the Costa Daurada". In the twelfth century, a castle stood in the location of today's church. Previous periods of prosperity, war and peace have impacted the church's construction, which explains its current incomplete state. In spite of this, the church's first mass was celebrated in 1947. The internal frescos, created in the 1960s by Jaume Minguell, are of particular note in this classically-styled church.

    • Cambrils Town Centre

      Cambrils Town Centre

In the coastal town of Cambrils, life revolves around the harbour. Go for a stroll here and get up close to the defensive tower that watches over the port: it's visible from quite a distance. You will also see the castle, an ancient fortress built by the Baron of Vilafortuny which is now a holiday resort. As you walk, you will notice the square form of the old Telegraph Tower, known as El Telégrafo de l’Esquirol. Also worth a visit its the sanctuary of El Camí, with its crypt and watchtower.
