    • Iles Medes

      Iles Medes

Close to the shore off L'Estartit beach lies the Medes archipelago which is part of the Montgrí, Medes Islands and Baix Ter Nature Park. These seven islets covering a surface area of about 23 hectares are one of the most important marine flora and fauna reserves in the western Mediterranean. This explains why the place is popular with scuba diving enthusiasts who go there to admire the red coral caves and large posidonia meadows.
You can also visit the area in glass bottomed boats, kayaks or "traditional" boats.

    • Cala Calella

      Cala Calella

During your stay, there's a walk that you just have to do. Only 30 minutes from the Port of Estartit, there's a little rocky creek called the Cala Calella. It's a little slice of heaven: crystal clear turquoise waters against a backdrop of rocks and lush vegetation. As you head back to the port after your swim, you will come across a viewpoint, from which you can see the Medes islands in the distance, and also a natural well, the Pou de la Calella.

    • Cala Montgó

      Cala Montgó

A creek with a fine sand beach, the Cala Montgó is located in the most southerly part of Escala. It is especially popular in windy weather, as it's perfectly protected from the wind. Numerous establishments can be found on the promenade beside the beach. Alongside the Cala Montgó you will find many cafes and restaurants overlooking the sea. Not far from here, you will find the Montgrí Nature Park, the Medes islands and the Baix Ter Nature Park.

    • Cala Pedrosa

      Cala Pedrosa

The path leading to the Cala Pedrosa sets off from the San Sebastiano lighthouse. It's quite tricky to get there on foot, but you can also visit by boat. Once you've arrived, you'll find yourself in a wonderfully wild, natural creek. The rocky landscape is made up of large pebbles. The sea bed is also rocky and the creek is bordered by rocky cliffs. You won't find any restaurants or other facilities here, but that's the beauty of this hidden corner of paradise.

    • Playa L'Estartit / Griells / Pletera

      Playa L'Estartit / Griells / Pletera

This long beach is divided into three sections: the main beach, Els Griells beach and La Pletera beach.
The main beach is in front of the residential areas, which makes it very popular with beach lovers. Els Griells beach is home to lots of water sports operators. It is close to the Ter Vell Nature Reserve which gives this beach a very pleasant setting. La Pletera beach is the quietest section and part of the programme to restore the coastal dunes and marshes of Baix Empordà. The natural setting is stunningly beautiful.
