To see all the key buildings that make up the identity of the town of Almería, all you need to do is go for a wander in the old town. Here you will come across military government, the provincial hospital, the town hall, the Cervantes theatre, the prefecture and the Palace of Justice. Right next door are the Alcazaba, the Puerta Purchena, the Rambla de Belén and the harbour. Don't miss the chance to admire the cathedral, too. It stands in the centre of the old town.
If you are in Malaga, make the most of your stay with a visit to Antequera. More than fifty monuments make up the historic centre: dolmens in the cave of Menga, Viera and Romeral... You will also find the castle and Basilica Santa María as well as collegiate churches, churches, convents, palaces and gates... Among the other points of interest to explore are the palace of Nájera, the convent of the Catalinas and the palace of the Marques de la Peña.

Construction of the Basilica de la Macarena began in 1941 after the ground it was to be built on was blessed by Pedro Segura et Sáenz, bishop of Seville, on 13 April. It was completed in 1949. The building was designed by architect Aurelio Gómez Millán Séville. It consists of a single nave with side chapels. The building is the seat of the Brotherhood of La Esperanza Macarena.
The Baths of the Hedionda form a swimming area measuring ??6 meters across, overhung by a hanging spherical vault and two barrel vaults.
These sulphurous and ferruginous baths are of Roman origin. They were then restored by the Moors who modified the original structure of the whole place.
This place, declared a cultural heritage site, possesses curative properties which can still be enjoyed today since it is possible to bathe there.
