    Located less than 2 hours and a half from the UK, Zadar is a fantastic destination to enjoy a beautiful weekend break in Croatia. The region being a smaller destination than other Croatian cities, it is the perfect place for spend short breaks to Zadar. The Dalmatian Coast can get pretty cold in the winter but becomes an ideal destination for short beach breaks in the spring or summer seasons. Zadar boasts a 3,000-year-old history, and is now an exceptional mix of new and old architecture and a beautiful mix of Mediterranean cultures. Life in Zadar is much cheaper than in the UK so it is also a great opportunities for families or groups on a budget.


    Zadar beach weekend


    Located along the Mediterranean Sea, last minute Zadar weekends are a great opportunity to enjoy family beach weekends. Borik beach is the most popular beach in the mainland, with many facilities for families, such as pools and slides for the children. The beach is accessible by bus and is located in a shallow bay, ideal with babies and smaller children. If you want to go a bit further, the coastline offers many small islands, accessible by boat.


    What to see in Zadar


    Zadar weekend breaks are a great opportunity to discover some of the 30 churches of the city. Saint Donat is one of the most famous, as it is best preserved pre-romanesque building in the world. Climb the bell tower next to Saint Anastasia Cathedral to get a perfect view over the old town and its walls. Another attraction is the Sea Organ, an experimental musical instrument that produced music with the wind and waves of the sea. Sunsets in Zadar are incredible, so one of the most picturesque attractions in the city is to watch the sun go down on top of the Sea Organ and just enjoy the beauty of show.
