The Laguna Vilamoura residence is 3 km away from the centre of Vilamoura, a town whose name translates as "city of love".
Worth seeing in the surrounding area:
- Vilamoura Marina (3 km away): with its 1300 moorings, this marina is Portugal's largest and home to the country's main marine entertainment centre. It has restaurants, bars and a whole variety of shops.
- Quarteira (15 km away): despite the Vilamoura area being a magnet for tourists, this town remains visibly influenced by the fishing trade. It has a harbour which is still largely given over to fishing boats, as yachts and sailing boats tend to moor in Vilamoura harbour. It has a white sandy beach which stretches over 2 km.
- Faro (25 km away): this town borders Ria Formosa National Park, an expanse of lagoons and tidal mud flats, a habitat for migratory birds and other wild species. The town is particularly picturesque inside its city walls and in the districts around the marina, where there are lots of historic monuments and buildings.
