The residence is in Tuscany, in the Gulf of Baratti, 3km from the sea:
-From the port of Piombino (15 km away), take a boat ride to the island of Elbe for a day trip.
- Visit the archaeological sites of Vetulonia, Vulci and Pitigliano and see the necropolis and remains of the Etruscan civilisation.
- Don't miss the nearby medieval villages of Suvereto, Campiglia Marittima, Bolgheri and Castagneto Carducci.
-Many hiking trails and mountain bike tracks in the area.
-Nature lovers can enjoy walks in Orti Bottagone in Piombino nature reserve. It covers 100 hectares of fresh and salt water; and is home to 200 species of birds including white herons, white storks and geese. The site is protected by WWF Italy.
-While in Tuscany visit Pisa and its famous leaning tower, see the architectural wealth of Sienna and Florence, and the beautiful art of the Renaissance painters.
- Travel along the wine route: the Etruscan coast is famous for its wines including Bolgheri, Montescudaio, Val di Cornia and more.
- The extra-virgin olive oil produced in the surrounding olive groves is one of the well-known local products (in particular the Moraiolo and Leccino varieties)
