Ski resort Flaine is located in France, in the Haute-Savoie region, close to Geneva and the Mont-Blanc. Le Grand Massif, is one of the largest ski areas in the French Alps. Its situation, close to Geneva airport, and the doorstep skiing accommodation, allows you to be on the slopes in just a few hours. That's why we call Flaine a Fly in, Ski out resort...
FLY IN - SKI OUT
Flaine is just 1 hour and 15 minutes away from Geneva airport and 30 km from the A40 motorway (Autoroute Blanche). It is one of the most easily accessible resorts in the French Alps.
A LARGE SKI AREA
Le Grand Massif offers exciting skiing on 144 carefully maintained runs, totalling 265 km... and they start right on your doorstep!
Take the Grandes Platières cable car and climb to an altitude of 2550 metres. From the top, the view over the peaks is superb. The whole of the Mont Blanc massif unfolds before your very eyes, and you can also catch a glimpse of peaks including the Aiguille Verte and the Aiguilles de Chamonix. The more athletic visitors will opt to walk back down (there are marked trails) or mountain bike.
From Le Fayet station, the Mont-Blanc tramway takes you right up to the snow-capped peaks. Climb on board a cog railway, and enjoy a trip across stunning Haute-Savoie landscapes, on the steep mountainside. The tram stops at the stations of Saint-Gervais, Motivon, Voza Pass, Bellevue and finally at the Nid d'Aigle ("eagle's nest"). At each station, you can get off to enjoy the view and take the next tram if you wish, to get the most out of each stage. In Bellevue, you will be rewarded with an exceptional panorama over the Bionnassay glacier.
