      Equi-Age horse riding school

Located in the sporting area of Coulondes in Monflanquin, the Equi-Age horse riding school offers you horse and pony rides all year round, whatever your level. Horse riding events are organised by Béatrice, the owner. It is worth noting that introduction courses are offered during the school holidays to children aged between 5 and 12 years old.

    • Marciac town centre

      Marciac town centre

The Bastides and Vallons areas in the Gers department is an ideal region to explore on a hiking holiday.
The town of Marciac has two hiking trails.
Le Circuit des Côteaux is a 13 kilometre trail and it takes you across magnificent landscapes and through the villages of Juillac and Tourdun. Set off and discover the trails in this beautiful region.

    • Musée Joseph-Abeilhé

      Musée Joseph-Abeilhé

The Natural History Museum in Marciac, also known as the Joseph Abeilhe Museum houses a fine collection of birds and mammals. This museum, which has not changed for decades, resembles a cabinet of curiosities from the nineteenth century.

The animals come from the local region but also from far away lands, and you can admire them in the Marie of Marciac. The section on palaeontology is also well equipped: learn more about the ancient face of the earth!

    • Bastide de Monflanquin

      Bastide de Monflanquin

The Bastide de Monflanquin was created in 1256 thanks to Alphonse Count of Poitiers. Although it remains traditional in the regular nature of its streets, the bastide's oval design gives it a little originality. Carerrots, narrow streets, crossed with pontets (small access bridges) and andrones give the Bastide de Monflanquin its character. And for the visitors, do not hesitate in going to see the Maison du Prince Noir (The Black Prince's House) and the Saint André church.

    • Place de l'Hôtel de Ville

      Place de l'Hôtel de Ville

Marciac, a fortified royal enclave founded in 1298, has retained its original layout: It is a remarkably well preserved example of a bastide (medieval fortified town). Marciac's central square, the Place de l'Hotel de Ville is an impressive size. It is surrounded by houses with arcades. It once had a central market building, which was destroyed in 1871. The village skyline is easily recognised thanks to its two bell towers, one attached to the Church of Notre-Dame de L'Assomption and the other belonging to the old Augustinian Convent. Outside the village, the chapel of Notre-Dame de la Croix stands beside the pilgrimage route of the Chemin de Saint-Jacques. Marciac is also a musical town, with a strong jazz tradition, and plenty of culture is to be found among its art galleries and museums.
