L'île Penotte is a small neighbourhood of the town centre of Sables d'Olonne, located a few metres from the beach.
Since 1997, the "Les amis de l'île Penotte" association has pursued its aim of improving the neighbourhood.
In this context, the artist Danièle Aubin-Arnaud has redecorated the façades of the houses with the help of shellfish of all kinds. Creative, pretty and typical.

La Chaume is the oldest neighbourhood of Les Sables d'Olonne, a real "cradle" of the town, as it was founded centuries before. It is separated from it by the access channel to the port.

The Les Salines adventure park offers you a family walk to discover salt over a 10 hectare marshland. On a boat over the salty river or via the park, you will learn, in a fun way, about the history of white gold. Intrigue, an observatory, games and lots of other events will allow you to explore this unique park, which attracts nearly 35,000 visitors every year. You can also attend shows while the children can collect salt.
On the rocky coast of the Château d'Olonne, discover a geological curiosity of the region: the Puits d'Enfer, a sizeable fault dividing the cliff!
The sea smashes through it at high tide. Myths and legends circulate around this place.
