We had a wonderful week's holiday at this residence.
Extremely well located, just 100 meters from the beach on foot, with a superb view.
Breathtaking sunsets.
Lovely swimming pool.
Our apartment for four with a sea view was very well equipped; however, we were a couple with a teenager, and I think it would have been too small for four people.
Modern residence currently being renovated (for example, a brand new swimming pool). The apartments are very well maintained and in excellent condition. Lovely view of Calvi Bay. Very quiet. The beach is 200m away and there's a Balagne tram stop right next door (very convenient for exploring the coast without always needing a car). Electric vehicle charging stations are available and inexpensive (0.55 kWh). Tennis courts are also available.
Rates are a bit high.
The pictures on booking.com and the website look completely different from reality. They suggest modern apartments with sea views. The truth is, however, that at first glance the entire complex looks more like an old East German (FDGB) holiday home.
To be fair:
Our apartment was partially renovated inside (bathroom, kitchenette without a dishwasher, spacious refrigerator with a freezer compartment, air conditioning in the main room, but not in the bedroom).
However, the layout is rather awkward, with the kitchen in the passageway in front of the bathroom and bedroom.
And four people is a stretch (with a sofa bed).
The entire complex should have been built completely differently. The parking lot has a fantastic sea view, but most of the apartments don't. Why weren't the apartments staggered so that as many as possible have a sea view? Instead, you're looking at the plastered facade of the front building, which desperately needs a fresh coat of paint. There's more than enough space on the property. The architect clearly didn't think this through.
The pool is relatively new and very high-quality, but also somewhat unimaginative, featuring a quasi-socialist, square, and purely functional design. The tennis court is a definite highlight.
The rest of the complex is mostly gravel and crushed stone, dust, and the football pitch, for example, is entirely made of gravel/dirt/crushed stone and looks more like something you'd find in a village in Senegal. There's a lack of well-maintained green spaces; at least a bit of grass is missing. I'd say it's lacking in charm overall.
The quality of the apartment's terrace is also rather subpar. Here, too, there's no grass or any kind of landscaping. There's just the tiled terrace, and then it's immediately down to dust and gravel.
On the other hand, to mention a few positive things: The staff is really friendly, the location is perfectly fine, and the beach is very nice (rocky, with little sand, surprisingly quiet despite the large parking lot).
Another advantage is that you can use the train, which stops right in front of the property.
Thank you to the staff for their warm welcome and professionalism!
The accommodation was clean, well-equipped, and comfortable. The residence is very well located for exploring Upper Corsica, especially thanks to the little tourist train.
