Enjoy your stay at the Ty Mat residence in St Malo. The accommodation is functional (plenty of storage) and is equipped with everything you need. The wifi is of good quality. Large selection of board game loans. The small terrace is a plus. In addition, its location is great between the station (20 minutes), the ramparts and Saint Servan. You will find plenty of shops nearby. The staff is professional and friendly.

The negative points: having to make the beds with the little space, the bathtub which is not made for large people, the soundproofing (fortunately I came at a quiet time but you can hear the neighbors peeing or walking by example) . A hairdryer, even wall-mounted, would be appreciated and extending the hours of the games room a little would be great :)

Also be careful if you have to take a train in the morning when it is dark because the streets are not lit...

If I return to St Malo I would come back with great pleasure :)

One-week stay shortened by one day because of many negative points
We had asked to be accommodated on the ground floor... The information apparently never arrived so we found ourselves staying on the 3rd floor... no luck the elevator remained broken throughout our stay despite the intervention of OTIS for several days.
In return we are offered free parking... Access to the lunar parking lot: 3 potholes worthy of duck ponds over 100 meters as soon as it rains.
No charging stations for electric vehicles in the parking lot which does not have video surveillance either...The residence declines all responsibility in the event of theft or damage.
So no terrace since we are on the 3rd floor.
Access to the residence is well signposted, however, just at the exit of a bend, so be careful when leaving!
To sleep I hope you like camping because it is a sofa bed: very wide mattress but thick like an SNCF sandwich....Impossible to sleep without feeling the scrap metal frames of the sofa...A HORROR !
The next day they brought us a second mattress which allowed us to sleep a little better... But at the slightest movement it creaks everywhere!
Good sound insulation thanks to thick concrete walls.
Good lighting in the bathroom however access to the bathtub/shower is a little high and the bathtub can only accommodate a child!
For the selective sorting of waste it is deep in the basement, on the other hand for the glass bottles you have to drop them off in the city center! Really practical!!
Apart from all that, residence not too badly located...2km from Saint-Malo intra muros and very close to the city center.
A ping-pong table in the basement with billiards and other games for children.
A little over €400 per week in this season with no possibility of being reimbursed for the lost day because we left before.
The paint on the left window is falling apart and needs attention...Not to mention a small screw that fell from the top of the window without knowing what it was fixing.
And then do you remember the ugly picture in the film “Tanned people ski” led by Gérard Jugnot and Josiane Balasko? I think we've had worse! But hey...To each his own as they say!
We came once....But we won't come back!
