    Located between Nice and Monaco, on a rocky outcrop overlooking the Mediterranean Sea at 429 metres above sea level, the village of Eze is a very picturesque international tourist attraction.     Monaco Oceanographic Museum

    Since 1910, the Oceanographic Museum of Monacofounded by Prince Albert I of Monaco has revealed the mystery of the sea and ocean to visitors. Its collections explore both the marvels of natural history (shells, shellfish, fish and many other inhabitants of the saltwater setting) and the art of navigation and scientific expeditions.

    Collections also include artistic representations of the marine environment and creations based on sea objects serving an aesthetic purpose (mother-of-pearl ornaments, painted shells) and ethnographic prints.

    Additionally, theAquariumand its 90 pools allow the public direct contact with water and deep-sea creatures.

    In the Provencal and exotic gardens, the cacti and narrow paths transport strollers on a voyage that extends into the lapidary and Japanese gardens. Finally, the numerous varieties of roses blooming in the rose garden reveal their intoxicating scents, best appreciated from May to July.

    Menton Fine Arts Museum - Carnolès Palace

    The Menton Museum of Fine Arts has moved to the former Palace of the Princes of Monaco. Indeed, the Palais de Carnolès alone is well worth the visit and the collections of paintings and works of art on show there definitely merit the detour.

    Admire the gilded doors, the delicate woodwork and the magnificent ceiling that make this place a splendid setting for the paintings of the great masters. The museum houses paintings from the early Italian and Flemish schools and also boasts a large collection of modern art including paintings from the School of Paris. Visitors are also free to stroll in the gardens of the Palace, where they will discover more than 70 contemporary sculptures.
