      Russian orthodox church

When you visit the Russian orthodox church of Altea, in Costa Blanca in the province of Alicante, you will discover a surprising edifice. This spiritual centre, blessed in 2007 and decorated with fascinating gilding, has been entirely constructed with Russian building materials. More surprising still, it is the copy of a 17th century church, situated in the Oural region. The church contrasts with the surrounding architecture of the region; reason enough for a visit!

The ancient Roman settlers in the region relied heavily on the sea and salt: It formed the basis of their trade. This trade gave rise to the planning of a town, including these very baths. The site is made up of three parts: the Roman Vicus, the thermal complex of the Muntanyeta and The Baths of the Queen.
These facilities, testifying in particular to the luxury of the time, constitute a truly cultural heritage.

      Natural Park of Penyal d'Ifac

The nature lovers that you are will be able to discover these 45 hectares of protected space. From a size point of view, the park is one of Europe’s smallest, but it’s not the least interesting! Its bioclimatic characteristics, its position and its orientation allow the development of a unique and diverse flora. It’s for this reason that the park is one of the most visited in the Valence region. Among other things, you can admire around 80 different species of birds that are either breeding, migrating or that are simply wandering.

    • Church of Sant Jaume i Santa Ana

Church of Sant Jaume i Santa Ana

This church was built in the eighteenth century, more precisely, according to legend, just after the discovery of the statue of the Virgin of Suffrage (the patroness of the city) in a boat that was floating off course.
In a Neo-classical style, it has a white façade, ochre mouldings and cornices, and a blue dome, which is typical of Mediterranean domes.
Once inside, visitors can admire a large pipe organ that was inaugurated in 2012, on the day the patron saint is celebrated.
