      To see all the key buildings that make up the identity of the town of Almería, all you need to do is go for a wander in the old town. Here you will come across military government, the provincial hospital, the town hall, the Cervantes theatre, the prefecture and the Palace of Justice.       Construction of the Basilica de la Macarena began in 1941 after the ground it was to be built on was blessed by Pedro Segura et Sáenz, bishop of Seville, on 13 April. It was completed in 1949. The building was designed by architect Aurelio Gómez Millán Séville. It consists of a single nave with side chapels. The building is the seat of the Brotherhood of La Esperanza Macarena.

      These sulphurous and ferruginous baths are of Roman origin. They were then restored by the Moors who modified the original structure of the whole place.
      This place, declared a cultural heritage site, possesses curative properties which can still be enjoyed today since it is possible to bathe there.
