At the Alpe d'Huez Sports and Conference centre, visitors have the opportunity to discover a wide range of sports activities. On the programme: mini-golf, jorkyball, climbing, gym, cardio and weight training, badminton, basketball.
You can also enjoy various water activities such as aquabike, aqua aerobics, aqua-finning, and swimming with flippers.
The Aple d'Huez prides itself on the Notre-Dame des Neiges church. Its construction was commissioned at the time of the Grenoble Games in 1968, and it was completed in 1970 with the support of parishioners.
The church definitely merits a visit for its architectural value. At first glance, the facade and high tower seem rather conventional but as one tours the structure, its tent-shaped form is revealed. The interior boasts an organ in the form of an outstretched hand, which is unique in the world. The stained glass was designed by Arcabas and depicts the major scenes in Christ's life. Nowadays, the Notre-Dame des Neiges church is a major asset in Aple d'Huez and attracts lots of visitors.
Le Village de La Grave - La Meije is located at the heart of the Ecrins National Park. It is close to numerous lakes, as well as the Col du Lautaret.
Each year, a range of activities are provided for tourists during the winter. You can rent equipment to go hiking, or take freeriding classes, for example, and go climbing or paragliding.
The village also has many shops, as well as libraries and various sports facilities.
The beautiful Domaine de Vizille invites you on a historical, cultural and natural excursion. You can visit the Museum of the French Revolution and its collections, the château which is classed as a historical monument and the park which extends over 100 hectares.
The museum offers a fresh look at a key period in the history of France, which had a great influence on the Western world. You can discover the history as well as works of art and craft pieces that were inspired by the French Revolution.
The château houses a unique collection of works of art relating to this period of history, from the end of the Old Regime to the Third Republic.
The garden is perfect for a walk, with a variety of landscaped areas and parkland.
Once situated inside a very beautiful building on the 19th century Place Verdun , the Musée de Grenoble , located today in the heart of the city, is an inspirational example of contemporary museum architecture.
But it is the collections, especially rich in 20th century art , which make it one of the leading museums in France .
Around the outside of the museum is a collection of rare sculptures which are open daily to the public. Inaugurated in 1988 , this sculpture park just keeps getting bigger and bigger. Within the museum, temporary exhibitions are organised each year.
