La pointe du Millier is located by the Iroise sea, to the north of Cap Sizun. It is a place for strolling and hiking, which lets you contemplate the west Brittany shores.
At the end of this cape, you can see the Millier lighthouse, which backs onto a small keeper's house. Built in 1881, its lantern is located 34 metres above sea level.
La Pointe du Van is similar to La Pointe du Raz, but it is less well known and touristy, therefore conserving its wilder side. They both surround the Bay of the Dead.
La Pointe du Van gives you an overview of the Cap de la Chèvre and the other points of Cap Sizun. It is a popular strolling and hiking place, especially over the rocks.
In the 17th century Brittany was an extremely strategic region: Brest, Morlaix, Saint-Malo and Lorient were four important military ports. Defending these ports quickly became a necessity. The task was given to military engineer Vauban who had a tower built on the sur le Sillon of Camaret-sur-Mer. The harbour in Brest was well defended: on 18 June 1694, the Kingdom of Louis XIV pushed back the Anglo-Dutch during the battle of Trez-Rouz. Thanks to arrows shot from the tower, the French killed 800 of the advancing enemy, losing only around 40 of their own men. Since 2008, the Vauban Tower has been a Unesco World Heritage monument.
Located opposite the wild coast of Cap Sizun, L'Etrave offers a wonderful view over the ocean, the moor and the Crozon peninsula. The restaurant is based under the arch of an upturned boat's hull.
The speciality of the house is the Breton lobster, cooked in the cooking pot, with cream, Armoricaine sauce, etc. It is a must try!
The cuisine celebrates local Breton produce: fish, shellfish and even buckwheat flour and heather honey. You mouth will be watering.
Formerly the Saint-Pierre, this restaurant located opposite the beach has become Crêperie des Roches Blanches. You can also enjoy a large terrace. The décor is rather unusual and highlights Brittany and Finistère.
There you will find all the traditional buckwheat pancakes , as well as sweet crepes but also more original combinations, like the cooked leeks and cream pancake/B>.
