No... the receptionist was execrably friendly with the bus driver who was blocked by a poorly parked utility vehicle in the roundabout leading to the hotel, even if I can understand sometimes! But hey, the vehicle had been there for hours and reception was aware of our arrival.

We have just returned from a ski holiday, in the Chalet section, at the Top!! Everything was perfect, plus great weather. I would happily come back.

As usual, we were very satisfied with our apartment. Spacious for 4 people and super equipped. No complaints about cleanliness and sound insulation. The Wellness is unfortunately always rather crowded with people and especially children. Parking costs €90/week, there are cheaper but less practical options. The big plus is the location of the hotel, the slopes are at the exit of the locker room.

With 6 people we booked apartment no. 317 with 2 bedrooms of 50m2. Helios is not centrally located in Flaine. For entertainment and liveliness, take the shuttle bus to the slightly lower part. We think walking is just a bit too far.

Pros:
- Our apartment is spacious by French standards.
- kitchen is very well equipped with plenty of crockery and cutlery; enough pans and utensils; upon arrival there was a starter package containing: dishcloth; mini bottle of dish soap; 2 small garbage bags and only a few dishwasher tablets. Luckily we brought some with us from home.
- one of the 2 bedrooms has an ensuite bathroom + toilet
- shuttle bus: bus stop is approximately 100 meters from Helios
- between 6 p.m. and midnight you can use the free (!) Helios taxi bus to be taken to the center and also to be picked up in the center. This is instead of the shuttle bus that no longer runs after 6 p.m. This service is very good because you only have to call a number and the taxi van will be ready in no time. Really great and efficient too!
- indoor swimming pool: wonderful!
- sauna: very nice after skiing!
- outdoor Jacuzzi: fantastic, even at temperatures below freezing!
- The apartment has a bathrobe for each guest (handy to wear when you go to the pool) and disposable hotel slippers.
- ski-in ski-out.
- ski room with boot warmer.
- not too large SPAR supermarket right next to the ski locker door; Therefore, we did not use Helios' breakfast service and we bought freshly baked baguettes, croissants and pain au chocolat ourselves every morning (very tasty!). The supermarket prices are expensive, including toilet paper because Helios did not replenish it (only a few toilet rolls for the whole week!) We had to buy it there ourselves. So tip: if you come with your own car: take some extra from home :-)
- good restaurant Le Table opposite the supermarket (recommended!).
- ski rental company and ski school nearby.
- indoor garage: your car can be covered for €90 per week. Just a pity there is no charging point available. So we had to drive to the P3 in the village to charge your car there!

Negatives:
- despite ski-in ski-out, it takes some time to ski to the central Grand Vans ski station. Because from Helios you first ski down to the "Gerats" chairlift. There, take the chairlift up and then ski via a short blue piste (Aigue-marine/Baudroie) to the Grand Vans Telecabine station.
- During our stay there was a lot of snow. As a result, we could not drive our car (with good winter tires) out of the parking garage without snow chains in the early morning of departure! The slope was just too steep. So be prepared to have to put snow chains on your tires to get out of the parking garage.
- cleaning could be better: especially the ensuite bathroom of one of the bedrooms. The ceiling is slightly moldy due to very poor ventilation and there is a lot of limescale on the shower rod.
- switching the heating on and off in the bedrooms and living room requires instructions for use. It was very difficult in the beginning. Small children should be careful of the scalding heat when the heating is on!
- Unfortunately there is no cleaning and bath/towel change during the week. You can have cleaning work done mid-week for an additional fee. Quite pricey, around 100 euros one-time for a 6-person apartment.
- no charging point in the indoor parking garage.

Despite some negatives, we really liked Helios. If we return to Flaine, we would book an apartment here again, but one that:
- slightly larger: 60 m2; and
- Located on a slightly higher floor (now on the 3rd) for a better view.
